As everyone, who has been keeping up with Jackie’s foodblog knows, Jackie has been out for awhile. Before she went in for surgery, we visited the library to stock up on reading material for her to have when she returned home. Yes, it was quite a stack of cookbooks. I think only two books were not cookbooks and I am not sure that they have even been opened yet. One book, however, has not hardly been closed. I take a peek into the book and my eyes glaze over but Jackie’s eyes twinkle.

Guess what Jackie is getting! Yes, you are correct, “Passionate Vegetarian” by Crescent Dragonwagon has been ordered and is on the way. Naturally, since Jackie loves this cookbook so much, it is now on the “Must Have” link list.

However for me, I will keep taking the pictures for Jackie’s foodblog and keep looking in the mail box for a 420EX or 550EX flash for our camera. I will also continue mixing our vitamin supplement drink in the morning, juicing carrots or blending smoothies to start our day and leave the cooking and meal creations to Jackie.

Have a great day

While out of town I was able to check Jackie’s blog. Yes, I am also curious to see if she has posted anything new. She had.

Jackie had made a post and added a bit about “Natural Flavors”, so I followed the link, read the information, thought it was interesting but couldn’t imagine Jackie posting an “alert” based on just one site. So when I got home I asked her if she was sure she wanted to add the “Natural Flavors” alert until she had time to do a more in depth research and she said “I have, and I find it disturbing.” So, I thought I would make a small post and suggest you look into it and as always read the label and know what you are actually eating. You can begin your research at tangergreen.com.

Jackie says I am somewhat . . . Oh never mind what Jackie says. But if you are interested, visit the FDA’s website at www.fda.gov/fdac/special/foodlabel/ingred.html or go directly to CF101-22.HTM and pay special attention to sections (3) which states:

The term natural flavor or natural flavoring means the essential oil, oleoresin, essence or extractive, protein hydrolysate, distillate,or any product of roasting, heating or enzymolysis, which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice, vegetable or vegetable juice, edible yeast, herb, bark, bud, root, leaf or similar plant material, meat, seafood, poultry, eggs, dairy products, or fermentation products thereof, whose significant function in food is flavoring rather than nutritional. Natural flavors include the natural essence or extractives obtained from plants listed in Secs. 182.10, 182.20, 182.40, and 182.50 and part 184 of this chapter, and thesubstances listed in Sec. 172.510 of this chapter.

NUTRIENT dense foods packed with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytonutrients are unquestionably a requirement for optimally good health. I would not even question that our first source for them would be in the food we eat every day.

Two of the most important decisions I will make today is what I choose to eat and what I choose NOT to eat. If you have been reading Jackie’s FoodBlog, you have seen that we are incorporating NUTRIENT dense smoothies, juices, fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, lots of greens, which are prepared raw to lightly cooked or saute’d.

To present the whole picture of my journey, I must also include our Biometics™ supplements. The Biometics™ supplements we have incorporated are basic nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that everyone needs. Part of the formulation process is called micellization. It is our understanding that this process causes these supplements to be ready for absorption when consumed and do not require our bodies to digest them.

It would be very pleasing to talk about how we researched, examined reams of scientific documentation, but the truth is a friend of ours insisted that we try Biometics™ supplements for at least 30 days because they were making a difference in how she felt. We tried Biometics™ for 30 days in February 2000 and have never quit.

All I really know is that when we began using the Biometics™ BioFue™, Aloe Plus™, and Get-Go-N™ Jackie’s weekly migraine headaches went away and have been gone since February 2000. I know that there have been many days since February 2000 that if it had not been for the Biometics™ supplements I would not have been able to get out of bed.

These products are just as much a part of my diet/lifestyle as any fruit or vegetable from the garden, so I felt it necessary to include them as a post. Every morning I have a smoothie or carrot juice, cup of coffee. . . Yes coffee but it’s organic! and my Biometics™ nutritional drink. On the days that I do not have my carrot juice or smoothie I still have my Biometics™ nutritional drink.

To me, a supplement is just that, an addition to or a completion of, my food. It is to insure (like insurance) that I get, at a minimum, the nutrients, vitamins, minerals my body needs. Biometics™ Supplements are NOT food, nor are they a replacement for food. They are nutrients, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and phytonutrients, derived from food sources.

Biometics™ supplements are the only supplements that have ever rocked my world and are the only supplements I choose to market personally.

Have a great day.
