Days 10 – 14

Sorry I haven’t written the last few days, I’ve been working at the Red Cross office since our secretary quit and have found myself quite busy.

My very dear friend, Kathy, came to see me last week. How I have missed her. We had let 8 years go by without seeing each other. That won’t happen again. She was here for day 10, which was mostly like the other days, except we had dinner for lunch since she was here. For lunch we had a wonderful salad with lemon and olive oil dressing and a grilled vegetable pizza. Yum OH! She also got to try a smoothie and it met with a vote of approval! Our dinner that night was a nice big salad with beans.

Here’s lunch:

Days 11 and 12 were different days also. We stayed pretty much on plan, however, my brother, Rusty and I went to Monticello, Kentucky for our family reunion. It is so good to see family. I don’t know why I don’t see them more often because I do love being with them. We stopped to get a watermelon and some grapes for our contribution to the meal. There were lots of fresh tomatoes from the garden, green beans from the garden and cucumbers. I had 2 big platefuls of all 3! Then I ate watermelon and grapes. What a wonderful time we had.

Days 13 and 14. Ken has been out of town. I have been keeping track of him though and he has done well. We haven’t had our carrot juices, but I have had the smoothie and I’ve been eating great salads. I have just simply been craving them. The lemon and olive oil I use on them just keeps calling my name. I love the beans on the salads. Tonight, for the final dinner of the 14 day plan, I’m going to have steamed, broccoli, corn on the cob and kale with another green salad.

I will weigh tomorrow and let you know where I am. I can definitely tell I’ve lost inches. Such a good thing!

  • I followed the plan very closely while I was out of town. Sunday evening when I arrived in Indianapolis, our daughter prepared tacos, beans, & other vegetables that were within the plan. I encouraged her to post the dish.

For breakfast, as always, I had my Biometics vitamin drink, and soaked oatmeal with raisins, nuts, and a bit of agave nectar. Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday I purchased watermelon, strawberries, apples and peaches for my lunches. I also had green leafy salads with a variety of veggies.

Following the plan this closely for 14 days I have discovered that I have a difficulty with the amount of raw vegetables we have been eating.

I did not really find the 14 days to be difficult, but Jackie and I were doing it together as a team. And I am now glad it’s over. This morning, as always, I had my Biometics vitamin drink. Jackie had left me some soaked oatmeal and I added raisins, nuts, and a bit of agave nectar. I then fixed Jackie a green leafy salad, grapes and juiced carrots, an apple, & celery, for her lunch & snack.
