My weekend is almost up. I’m working every day right now, so I have to remember to go to bed at a decent hour!
No late-night blog reading!
Day 5 was a wonderful day.
Breakfast: Smoothie, just like all the others. When I go to the store next time, I’m going to get some kale for the smoothie. It is just as good as spinach. The fruit all stayed the same. It was a beautiful purple color today.
Midmorning: 8 ounces of carrot, celery and spinach juice. Very, very good!
Lunch: Peaches. We each ate two. I did fine, no noticeable blood sugar issues. I bought the peaches at Whole Foods. They were nice and ripe.
Midafternoon: 8 ounces of carrot, cucumber and green bell pepper. So good. Really sweet actually. I thought the bell pepper would be a stronger taste, but I told Ken that my juice smelled like Dunkin Donuts! Hey, get the joy of a donut while drinking carrot, cucumber and green bell pepper juice! Nothing wrong with that, right?
Dinner: A clean out the fridge stirfry. I noticed that I had pieces of veggies that were going to go bad if I didn’t use them, so I decided to go away from the book tonight and have a stirfry. I just used the different veggies I had in my fridge and sautèd it in about 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and added a couple of tablespoons of low-sodium tamari. The stirfry was plated over a bed of brown rice and I topped it with some black, toasted sesame seeds. Very good.
Simple eating today, we’re doing good. You know, once you reach a point, you realize you are enjoying the foods you are eating. The stirfry tonight had a little low-sodium tamari on it, but really nothing else except the sesame oil and sesame seeds. We talked about being able to identify the different veggies we were eating. That is nice.
Happy, Healthy Eating
