Speaking of sushi, Kelly and I have found a great new sushi place on Bardstown road called Oishii Sushi. They are located at 2245 Bardstown Rd. in Louisville, 502-618-2829. They are open MO-TH: 11-2 & 5-10; F: 11-2 & 5-11; SA: 5-11 & SU: 5-9. It's very small and crowded thanks to an article in Velocity (and we went during the week). For the first few months it was open; all the truly religious sushi fanatics in search of the best sushi had discovered it and kept it a secret. Velocity let the secret out of the bag so it gets pretty crowded now. Normally we prefer Sakura Blue and our favorite is Wasabi on 82nd in Indy. This surpasses by leaps and bounds Wasabi in Indy. It is by far the freshest sushi I have ever put in my mouth, it's inventive/new twists on classics, and the rolls are huge. If it's too crowded they do sushi to go and package it great. As we sat at the bar we marveled over the items that were being crafted for other patrons. I highly recommend their Crunch Munch, Hotai (scallop), Dragon Roll, and a few others that were delectable. Women talk about the joys of chocolate but this took the cake for me. They will definitely be seeing us again; we are planning sushi Mondays with Heather. By the way they only serve sushi, apps, salads, soups, and desserts; they don't serve meals like chicken terriyaki.
