BBQ

Well, Susan, the Seitan BBQ Ribz were delicious! We had them with steamed butternut squash/sweet potatoes and broccoli. What a wonderful combination.

This recipe really did have the texture of ribs. I will definitely make this again. It was so easy, so don’t be afraid to try this just because it is different. It is delicious. You can use seitan (pronounced say tähn) for many dishes, on pizza, as a roast, etc. Check it out. I am very pleased with my first venture using Seitan. I wasn’t as happy with the BBQ sauce I used, so I’ll work with that a little, but just use your favorite.

Susan, from the Fat Free Vegan, has so many wonderful ideas, and every single one I have made has been a big hit.

Here are the pictures.

We started with a salad consisting of chopped purple cabbage, sliced tomatoes, chopped basil, a small amount of “bleu-style sheese” and some blood orange vinegar. Seems like a weird combination, but it was really good.

  • Jackie, I’m so glad you liked the ribz! I also have trouble finding a barbecue sauce that we all like, so if you find a good one, please let me know. Also, I think the salad sounds terrific!

  • My Mother and father were in town and I showed them Jackie’s blog with the BBQ. My father let me know that he liked BBQ and it really looked good. So we fixed it for them, they had a vegetarian meal and loved it ;-)
